People who rose from ashes

Hello...

For my second blog I chose the topic 'People who rose from ashes'. The thing is i participated in my college Elocution competition and wrote a speech on this topic and a poem too for the competition. I would like to share it with everyone... :-) It is as follows...

Just like the Phoenix, a mythical bird that lives up to 100 years and near to the end of it's life it settles into it's nest of twigs and then burns ferociously, reducing the bird and nest into ASHES.... And, from those ashes rises a fledgling phoenix, renewed and reborned.

History is the witness that the rejected, ridiculed miraculously had their rebirth. Will you believe if i say, King of Hollywood "Clark Gable" once lived a moment wherein he was remarked as
'His ears make him look a taxi cab with both doors open'
He had to remain mum because he was a job seeker and later, he was commented as the most handsome man in the world!

Name says it all, King of B-town, SRK was once thrown out of the house for he couldn't pay rent...

Mr.Bachchan 'The Star of MIllienium' before entering the film industry when he applied for announcers job at AIR (All India Radio) he was rejected for his voice deemed unsuitable and today dialogue seems to get beautified with jewels when heard in his voice! Rajnikant, one of the highest paid actor in India was once a bus conductor.

All of these people and many more like them who have scaled incomparable heights of success is only because of their unbeatable will power and the mindset of winner, regardless of others opinions.
During the dark phase of their life... in the MAKE IT or BREAK IT juncture , they chose to make it and to make the BEST of it!
Because "there's a lot to do before u sleep!

Thomas Alva Edison said,"I didn't fail 10,000 time, but i found out 10,000 ways that didn't work. my friends, that's OPTIMISM.

Colonel Sanders, when he was retired at the age of 64 and he was going to face poverty in the golden last years of his life, he didn't accept it but the old man every new day attempted, tried. He had umpteen number of rejections for his chicken recipe. And if at that time he would have had given up and accepted to be poor, my friends, today it would be possible for us to relish meals at KFC!

Bill Gates was an Havard University dropout. But this did noty demotivate him. Instead it charged him to do more better in his software company.

The man on Indian currency, Gandhiji titled as Mahatma, had difficulty in exams and after studying law he failed at establishing his practice in Bombay. But with this didnt affect his self-respect nor discouraged him. With his iconic notions and leadership began an important driving phase, Gandhian phase in the history of Indian Freedom Struggle.

Henry Ford suffered early bankruptcy and Walt Disney was fired from ad agency because he couldn't draw!

It is said," We should not judge people by the peak of their excellence but by the distance they have travelled from the point thry started."

There is a long list to go. Famous unfamous many many names add to this list... list of people who rose from ashes and we can be a part of it..

When we are down
and out
and filled with doubt
Have a look
at people, from ashes who rose...

When you try
from bottom of your soul
and face defeat,
your name may get enrolled
In the list
Of people, from ashes who rose...

With an extra ounce,
when you have a powerful bounce,
a new story unfolds
as your name  gets traced
In the list,
Of people, from ashes who rose...

Overcoming fear
of downfall and failure,
taking further steps
your name gets enrolled
In the list
Of people, from ashes who rose...

Of success, an epitome
people set as they shone!
Optimism, with efforts they chose
And
from ashes they ROSE....!

This was my speech...
It was on October 17... my elocution competition... which i wanted to win and had sleepless night thinking about it... I was full with ardent wish of success and no trace of negative thoughts... But unfortunately it so happened i didn't win... Sudden stage fear and nervousness killed it all... And it was tough for me to accept this failure.. May be that affected my self-esteem too... when my friend came to me and said, "Anjali, abhi to tum apne poem ke second stanza par ho...
When you try
from bottom of your soul
and face defeat,
your name may get enrolled
In the list
Of people, from ashes who rose... "

aur tumhe ab life me apni poem hi apply karni he..or us list mein apna naam shamil karna hein.. chalo don't loose heart!"
Oh yes, she was correct... My poem then encouraged me that time and now I am sharing it with all with a believe that just like this incident of my life u too may get encouraged for everything u do and u also climb the ladder of optimism, hard work and honesty too..!

ThankYOU
Have lovely time and live life to it's fullest :-)
